Our Foundation
100% of donations go back into the community
In 2011, Lisa and Tim's two-year-old son, Shane, passed away tragically when his dresser fell on him. They have become advocates in child safety, creating Shane’s Foundation in their son's honor, which strives to educate the public about dresser tip-overs and the importance of securing furniture. Shane’s Foundation is not for profit and 100% volunteer, offering no salaries. Donations to Shane’s Foundation are used to for community educational materials. They also provide safety straps and educational brochures to hospitals, such as Lurie Children’s Hospital and other hospital networks.
Lisa also is the longest consumer advocate in her committee with the ASTM working with furniture manufactures in an effort to create safer furniture and a stronger, more stringent standard. She is also the long time face and voice in person at meetings, consistently reminding the manufacturers that the "data" they are seeking and constantly talk about are our children and that each stat has a face, parents, siblings and parents attached.
Lisa is the co-founder of PAT (Parents Against Tip-Overs) creating a nationwide coalition of parents who also have children that passed away from dressers falling on top of them. https://stoptipovers.org/
Also an advocate for the STURDY act: https://youtu.be/SOJxz2i4MXQ

One child dies every two weeks when a TV, a piece of furniture or an appliance falls.
Please help us in our mission as we continue to raise money for awareness and education for children's safety.
